The Amazon Made in Italy project was recently presented in Florence, at Palazzo Vecchio. It offers already 5000 merchandises whose complete picture in terms of origin, description and production techniques is available to online customers.
On this purpose, Francois Nuyts - Italy and Spain Country Manager - declared to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera that he was hoping in a "stronger collaboration with the companies in Florence" in order to increase their exports and extend it to other regions.
The Amazon platform can reach 285 million clients living around the world, standing out as a great opportunity for a wide visibility. On this subject, recent statistics show that during the last year the number of enterprises selling on Amazon had a 90% increase. Moreover, their export turnover has gone up to 133 million Euro. Florence mayor Dario Nardella also commented on the initiative, stating he is "proud of Florence being the first city in Italy having companies selling on the new Amazon marketplace".
