1) Cibus has gained popularity over the years, becoming one of the largest food fairs in the world. In the past four years, Fiere di Parma has enhanced its international activities, attracting more and more participants, interested in showing their "Made in Italy" food. 2600 companies will exhibit their products and are impatience to launch on the market their new lines.
2) The international boost of the fair aims at paving the way for EXPO 2015. Workshops, conferences, competitions and other events will be organized during Cibus. Particularly relevant is "Promuovere il Made in Italy: lezioni dall'estero" (Promoting Made in Italy: lessons from abroad). In addition to providing an overview of how large foreign distributors present Italian food, an award will be assigned to to the foreign distributors who best marketed and promoted "Made in Italy" food.
3) Retail will be represented as well as large distribution, food service as well as out of home catering, organic products as well as gluten free, halal and kosher products, regional small and medium enterprises for dedicated buyers, confectionary as well as grocery, and catering with the sponsorship of ALMA (the Italian cuisine school).
4) New releases and innovative products will be presented at Cibus 2014, such as the Parmesan cheese spread, proposed by Parmareggio or the DIY kit for making pizza created by Sapori Antichi. In terms of biologial products, their presence at Cibus is important: amongst others free ranged eggs (Alce Nero) and oil free sauces and dips from Ponti. Together with biological products, the supply of health products is expected to increase as well: Dalla Torre presents lactose free butter, Biffi vegetarian Bolognese sauce with soy. To conclude, Parmareggio presents also a nutritional snack for children, containing Parmesan cheese, breadsticks and a shake.
