The fleet of classic cars includes the powerful 195 Inter, a touring type version of the 195 S that was launched in 1950; the popular 330 GT 2+2 series II that outsold the preceding 250 GT 2+2 model; the highly successful Dino 246 GT, whose demand remained high right up until the production lines were closed; the glorious Testarossa that was first made available in 1984 and quickly became an icon; the front-engined V-12 car 550 Maranello, which proposed a pioneering and modern structure; and the highly sought-after 599 GTO that was created in 2010. The revolutionary LaFerrari Aperta, created to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the foundation of the company was on display during the grand opening ceremony of the exhibition, which was held at the end of May. The exhibition will remain open to the public until August 31st, 2017.
The car manufacturer was founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1939, but the first Ferrari-badged car was completed in 1947 in Maranello, near Modena. The brand became popular thanks to its involvement in motorsports, and particularly in Formula One, where it is the most successful racing team, holding the most constructors championships and having produced the highest number of winning drivers. Ferrari's successes are the fruit of constant commitment by its workers, who all share the founding father motto: "I have no interest in life outside racing cars, an overpowering passion that leaves me no time for thought or anything else".
