Mathesia is the first European crowdsourcing platform devoted to applied maths. It is a fully Italian project developed by Moxoff (Milan Politecnico spin-off) and Yottacle (an incubated startup within Poli-Hub).
Mathesia will work with Ban-Up, company active in the acceleration of innovative business projects, in order to promote the growth of pioneering startups.
Basically, the two partners will cooperate to strengthen new companies' financial and industrial structure, broadening their commercial development both in Italy and abroad.
Mathesia project is quite fascinating. The crowdsourcing platform counts thousands of subscribers coming from more than 50 different nations. They are mostly students, startups, researchers, consultants and other companies. Among the ones which decided to externalize their services with Mathesia we find some big names, such as Siemens, Nolan and De Longhi. The core activity of Mathesia is to facilitate the dialogue between companies and experts in the fields of statistics, mathematics, simulation and modelling in order to let the companies identify some good solutions, tailored to their needs.
Two groups of actors stand out on the platform: the brainies (the experts) and pitchers, i.e. the companies willing to improve their global performance, through innovation. From the moment the company launches a challenge on the service required, the experts start elaborating several solutions, competing to be chosen in a very dynamic perspective.
So doing, companies will be able to improve their productivity and performances in multiple markets. Mathesia offers consultancies to both small and big companies, that will be able to spot the expert they need.
Luca Prati - Mathesia CEO - has highlighted the company's ambition to expand its activities abroad, "finding new partners and performing well on the international market".
Mathesia is a great tool to connect companies to the best experts in the field, regardless of distances. In fact, it is like having a team of great people next door, even if they live and work miles away.
